Out of the room, not off the curb
The city bulk pickup will take a couch if you can get it to the curb on the right day. That is the catch. A sleeper sofa weighs as much as two people, a solid wood dresser is worse, and neither one is getting down a stairwell with one person on each end and a ceiling light in the way.
We come into the room. Legs come off, drawers come out, sectionals come apart at the brackets, and bed frames get unbolted. Then it goes down the stairs in pieces rather than wedged at the landing.
Mattresses and box springs
Mattresses are one of the most common things we haul and one of the most awkward to deal with yourself — they flop, they do not fit in most cars, and plenty of transfer stations charge extra for them. We take the mattress, the box spring and the frame in one go.
If the mattress has bed bugs, please say so. We still take it — infestations are part of the work we do — but the crew wraps and handles it differently so nothing ends up in the rest of the house or the truck.
Where it goes after
A good recliner or dining set does not belong in a landfill, so furniture with life left in it is donated, resold or recycled where possible. We cannot promise a particular piece will be donated — condition decides a lot of that.
If you already have a charity lined up that wants the piece, arrange it with them first and we can deliver it there for a small additional fee. It saves you finding a truck and two friends for the afternoon.
